We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our international team in Global Distribution within Parts Delivery, WGLS as a Trade Finance Specialist. In this role, you will ensure the highest standards of Trade Finance operations related to our spare part orders.

The position is offered as a permanent contract and will be based in Vaasa, Finland. In line with our hybrid work model, you will have the flexibility to work partially remotely.

Your responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to: 

Letter of Credit (L/C) Handling:

• Oversee the entire L/C process, including checking L/C terms and drafts, participating in payment term discussions, preparing amendment requests and L/C templates.
• Take full responsibility for the L/C process for our spare part orders, also acting as a logistics professional by issuing and coordinating all necessary documentation and shipment arrangements.

Transportation Planning & Delivery Documentation:

• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of L/C orders, with correct documentation, in perfect condition, while maintaining cost efficiency.
• Handle transport planning and export documentation for all L/C shipments, also by ensuring timely submission to the bank to secure payment and timely cash flow.
• Prepare complete sets of documents and shipment arrangements related to Cash Against Documents (CAD) orders.

Bank Guarantees:

• Manage various types of bank guarantees, including Advance Payment Guarantees, Performance Guarantees, Bid Bonds, and Warranty Guarantees.

The following will enable you to succeed in this role:

• Commercial education (B.Sc. or M.Sc.).
• Experience in Trade Finance or Foreign Trade roles.
• Strong understanding of Trade Finance instruments and international trade payment terms.
• Proficiency in SAP and Transport Management Systems.
• Proven experience in delivery and export documentation roles.
• In-depth knowledge of Incoterms, logistics, and transportation.
• Familiarity with Wärtsilä's business.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a positive attitude.
• Fluent English language skills, both written and spoken.
• Systematic and organised approach to work.
• High attention to detail.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Good knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office programs.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic and international work environment.
