We are looking for a Product Owner, CSO Power Plants to the Emission & Abatement team in Energy EPP Technology. As a Product Owner, you have the technical ownership of the CSO product, i.e. the Wärtsilä Combined Selective catalytic reduction and Oxidation catalyst. Enabling engine power plant sales through feasible emission compliance and delivery capability.
The preferred location for this position is Vaasa, Finland. We offer the possibility of hybrid work.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Product Owner you are mainly working with developing, maintaining and delivering, the CSO product and its offering capability. As product ownership for the CSO product is a new role for Energy, your focus is initially on developing the way of working that will secure the CSO product availability and development. Ensuring the CSO product will continue to be the most advanced catalyst solution for engine power plants also in future.
You take an active role in working with and developing component suppliers, building a cost and product consciousness. You will work closely with the Emission control equipment Product Team that outlines the product strategy and vision and our emission experts that provides emission sales support.
Your work will focus on these responsibilities:
- Ramping up the CSO product ownership and support building up the new CSO team, securing all functions needed
- Leading the development of CSO product by collaborating with internal and external contributors to secure outstanding performance, quality and cost competitiveness
- Driving a modular and configurable plant design that enables a high degree of configurability in delivery projects
- Ensuring product information and data is continuously up to date, so that plants can efficiently and reliably be offered and delivered
- Ensuring technical feasibility of sales cases and delivery projects and providing needed support
- Collecting feedback from stakeholders and documenting all improvement needs and ideas in the product backlog
- Planning and executing quarterly product improvements based on prioritised items in the product backlog
- Coordinating mechanical & process design, electrical & automation design
- Secure Energy organisation understands what our CSO solutions are and how they should be used by arranging needed trainings, forums and info sessions.
To be able to succeed in the position, we expect you to have:
- A MSc (in chemical, environmental engineering or similar) with a strong technical background, advanced knowledge in catalyst chemistry is an advantage
- Understanding of our power plant solutions, emissions, catalytic abatement systems, mechanical and structural design, automation and process control as well as manufacturing and logistics
- An understanding of a product from a holistic perspective that ensures that all angles of the product are considered and communicated properly
- Good understanding for customer and stakeholder needs and requirements and can turn these into practical solutions
- Strong collaborator skills: you can manage a large span of stakeholders and lead virtual teams
- A structured manner: you can master product backlogs and plan quarterly releases
- An interest to work according to Agile principles and preferably have Agile experience
