Aalto University Treasury is responsible for debt financing, cash and liquidity management, cash flow forecasting, financial risk management and bank relationships for the Aalto University Group. At the end of 2024, Aalto University had approx. EUR 350m of interest-bearing debt, which has been raised to finance the university’s campus and real estate investments. In addition, the Treasury acts as a controller to Aalto University’s endowment. With a market value of approx. EUR 1500 million, the endowment portfolio is invested into funds across asset classes such as listed equities, private equity, credit and alternative investments.

Your role and goals
The role of the Treasury Specialist at Aalto University is a unique opportunity to work in a small and dynamic team that is responsible for the university’s overall debt and liquidity management, as well as endowment controlling and back-office support.
The tasks of the Treasury Specialist include:

Post-trade settlement and controlling of endowment and treasury transactions

Reporting, incl. month- and year-end financial reporting

Monthly reconsiliations
-
Investment risk controlling
-
Monitoring of liquidity and bank balances
-
Collateral management
-
KYC and AML processes
Your experience and ambitions

Relevant academic education/degree
-
Strong interest in financial markets

High degree of integrity
-
Strong communication and cooperation skills

Strong Excel skills
-
Excellent command of Finnish and English
-
Relevant prior experience e.g. in trade settlement or KYC/AML processes will be considered an asset

We work in a hybrid and flexible way; our physical workplace is at our campus in Otaniemi, Espoo. Life at the transformed campus is vibrant and filled with amazing architecture, calming nature, and a variety of cafes, restaurants, services along with good public transportation connections.
The recruitment process includes a short video interview, interviews on campus and assessment tests. This is a permanent position starting upon agreement but no later than on September 1. The starting salary will be between 3700 – 4200 €/month depending on your experience.
