About your role
As a Research Data Solutions Lead at Aalto University IT Services, you will play a vital role in managing and enhancing our research data solutions. You will ensure that our research data is easy to find, access, store, interoperate, reuse, and is properly version controlled.
Additionally, you will oversee survey tools, contributing to the smooth execution of research projects.
You'll be at the forefront of university-level decision-making and priority setting, acting as a key contact for research data solutions, and ensuring that researchers' data needs are met efficiently and effectively.
Collaborating closely with leading researchers, data scientists, and IT experts, you will optimize data services, understand research requirements, and maintain a secure and robust data environment.
What we are looking for
We are looking for a proactive doer and thinker with a strong ability to identify areas of improvement and drive initiatives to enhance our solutions and processes.
You understand the importance of research data and codes as a managed strategic and tactical asset.
What will help you to succeed and enjoy working in this role:
- Competences in leading solution design and technology capabilities to meet end-user requirements and business objectives.
- Working experience in research/industrial data management, ideally including data collecting, processing, and storing projects
- Master/bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
- Flexible, open-minded, and collaborative attitude and skills to lead and manage cross-functional teams, vendors and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and learn.
- Good English language skills
It is an advantage if you have knowledge or experience on any of the following areas:
- Version control, research solutions and scientific methods.
- End-to-end product management.
- University or research environment
The following we consider an additional asset:
- Interest towards technical software and research data workflow
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Finnish language skills
