We are looking for a (Senior) Development Engineer, Autonomous Plant with a main responsibility to maximize the value created in Autonomous Plant technology development and ensure the functionality of the developed and released product features.
Position information:
The preferred location for this permanent position is Vaasa, Turku or Helsinki, Finland.
Your main responsibilities are:
- Assist in designing, building, deploying and managing AWS cloud infrastructure (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM)
- Support application deployment and CI/CD pipeline setup for cloud and edge environments
- Implement and maintain cloud security best practices
- Monitor and optimize cloud performance and costs
- Participate in team development tasks beyond cloud engineering to support overall project goals
- Collaborate with teams in Agile/Scrum workflows
- Document processes and provide technical support
- Drive our Wärtsilä values and purpose
You will succeed in this role if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 1-2 years of experience with AWS cloud services
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Understanding of networking concepts (e.g., DNS, TCP/IP, VPNs)
- Basic knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible)
- Experience or interest in connecting cloud to edge environment
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles
- Build CI/CD with AWS CodePipeline / CloudFormation for containerized Applications
- Experience in scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash)
- Open-minded attitude and a proactive approach
- Teamwork capabilities and ability to work independently
- Fluent in written and spoken English
In addition, we wish that you have :
- AWS certifications (e.g., Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect or Sysops).
- Experience with IaaC deployments.
- Experience with HMI (Human-Machine Interface) development.
- Familiarity with engine power plant systems or industrial applications.
