We are looking for a (Senior) Development Engineer, Autonomous Plant with a main responsibility to maximize the value created in Autonomous Plant technology development and ensure the functionality of the developed and released product features. 
 

Position information:

The preferred location for this permanent position is Vaasa, Turku or Helsinki, Finland.
 

Your main responsibilities are: 

• Assist in designing, building, deploying and managing AWS cloud infrastructure (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM)
• Support application deployment and CI/CD pipeline setup for cloud and edge environments
• Implement and maintain cloud security best practices
• Monitor and optimize cloud performance and costs
• Participate in team development tasks beyond cloud engineering to support overall project goals
• Collaborate with teams in Agile/Scrum workflows
• Document processes and provide technical support
• Drive our Wärtsilä values and purpose

You will succeed in this role if you have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 1-2 years of experience with AWS cloud services
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Understanding of networking concepts (e.g., DNS, TCP/IP, VPNs)
• Basic knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible)
• Experience or interest in connecting cloud to edge environment
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles
• Build CI/CD with AWS CodePipeline / CloudFormation for containerized Applications
• Experience in scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash)
• Open-minded attitude and a proactive approach
• Teamwork capabilities and ability to work independently
• Fluent in written and spoken English

In addition, we wish that you have :

• AWS certifications (e.g., Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect or Sysops).
• Experience with IaaC deployments.
• Experience with HMI (Human-Machine Interface) development.
• Familiarity with engine power plant systems or industrial applications.
