We are now looking for an On-Call trainee Spare Parts Engineer to join our skilled Part Data Lifecycle Management (PDLM) team. The role is offered as a maximum 25-hour week contract and the preferred location is Vaasa, Finland. In this highly flexible role, you will be able to work partially remotely in line with our hybrid work model. You need to be a full-time student studying for a degree in Finland to be able to apply for this role. 


What will you be doing?

As our product range expands due to rapid digitalisation, new alternative fuels, and power output solutions, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality information that supports the operation and maintenance of Wärtsilä products. As an On-Call trainee Spare Parts Engineer, you will be responsible for identifying spare parts and maintaining product data. Supporting in cases of absences for various reasons. This work primarily involves using Product Data Management (PDM) Bill of Materials (BOM) and SAP systems. While the role requires a high level of independence, you will have the support of your colleagues to help you succeed.


Your responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to: 

  • Fulfilling product structures for service use
  • Creating and maintaining spare part data for products within our scope
  • Supporting sales functions with spare part information
  • Providing technical identification support for spare parts

The following will enable you to succeed in this role:

  • Studying for be BSc or MSc in Engineering
  • Familiarity with Wärtsilä products
  • An understanding of product Bill of Materials (BOMs)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Proficiency in using SAP and Office tools, especially Excel
  • Strong problem-solving skills, a willingness to take initiative, and a desire to learn new things
  • Fluent English language skills, along with proficient Finnish language skills, both written and spoken
