As a Head of RAN Automation & Tools…
You will lead a key competence area in transforming radio access networks towards more efficient and intelligent operations. You will be responsible for managing Network Element Management Systems (NEMS) and driving automation initiatives, including the development of the radio network optimization tool (Centralized-SON) and the introduction of 5G SA-based slicing through R-NSSMF. Additionally, you will oversee the broader development of RAN operations automation, ensuring alignment with Telia’s long-term strategic goals.
Your responsibilities will extend to the overall governance of these areas, contributing to strategy creation and managing relationships with key stakeholders both within and outside the organization. You will lead a team of senior experts across multiple Telia countries, playing a critical role in supporting the Head of Radio Access Networks and being a key member of the Radio Access Network Leadership Team. Your role will require deep technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and a successful track record in automating development and operational processes within the radio access network domain.
As a business owner for Telia’s IT operations support systems (OSS) for RAN, you will be accountable for the design, development, and operations of essential platforms such as C-SON, R-NSSMF slicing functions, Performance Management, and Radio Planning tools. Additionally, you will be responsible for financial steering, long-term competence management, and ensuring the sustainability and scalability of Telia’s RAN operations.

You are an experienced professional with deep knowledge of Radio Access Networks and Network Element Management Systems, and a strong drive for change. Your expertise in RAN automation, OSS platforms, and process optimization enables you to lead Telia’s digitalization journey. You are entrepreneurial, capable of envisioning a future where intelligent automation transforms network operations. You are result-oriented, with a track record of driving large-scale transformations, making data-driven decisions, and ensuring executional success. As a leader, you engage and inspire teams while building support for change within the organization. Your strong communication skills enable effective collaboration across teams, and your continuous learning mindset ensures that you stay ahead of industry advancements.
Your Experience and Skills:
Education & Leadership - master’s degree in science, Engineering, or equivalent education. Previous experience leading cross-border development and operations teams with a strong focus on automation.
RAN & Automation Expertise - in-depth understanding of network design, planning, and operations, with proven experience in developing automation solutions for radio access networks, including SON. Knowledge of NSSMF & SMO is an advantage.
Technical & Agile Competence - experience in defining technical requirements, scoping activities, and managing a product backlog according to the SAFe framework. Ability to work on both short-term and long-term objectives, balancing strategic vision with implementation details.
Business & Financial Acumen -strong ability to align technical advancements with business goals, manage financial control, and steer investments in automation and IT OSS. Experience in successfully cooperating and aligning with other departments.
Language & Travel Requirements - fluent in English (spoken and written) and one of the Nordic or Baltic languages. Willingness to travel within the Telia footprint.
