Project Coordinator, Aalto Startup Center
Aalto Startup Center is a hybrid accelerator based in Aalto University offering both incubation and accelerator services to early stage and growth-driven startups and research-based project teams. Aalto Startup Center also operates several partner programs, including European Space Agency Business Incubator Finland, which focuses on space technology related startups. Aalto Startup Center’s premises are located in Otaniemi, Espoo.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Project Coordinator to coordinate the operations of a new activity ESA PhiLab Finland which will boost the transition of research based ideas into viable business solutions in the space related industry which is taking its early successful steps in Finland. The tasks related to ESA PhiLab Finland are planned to take up approximately 50% of the person’s time allocation while the remaining 50% relates to other coordination and development tasks related to Aalto Startup Center's operations and the expertise of the selected person.
European Space Agency (ESA) is building a network of ESA PhiLabs. Each ESA PhiLab aims at supporting promising space related research activities in its specific thematic domain. It will select (together with ESA) promising research proposals submitted by scientists and/or researcher teams and will provide support to the selected teams to develop their ideas towards market or investment readiness.
We are primarily looking for a person with versatile experience as a project coordinator or extensive experience and expertise in various demanding international entrepreneurial roles. As a project coordinator, you work as part of Aalto Startup Center's multi-skilled team.
Your main areas of responsibility include
- tasks related to the administration and implementation of the project, such as reporting, maintenance of customer data, and connections with financiers and customer companies, as well as informing about project results
- maintaining good flow of communication with portfolio companies utilizing different digital channels (e.g. MS Teams) and using effectively CRM tool for data storing and analyzing, and CRM event management function
- dealing flow management including analyzing the data, contacting potential customers (prospects) and planning marketing activities
- participating in the selection process and selection meetings and reporting of companies selected for the project, writing memos and annual/interim reports
- tasks related to marketing and communication (e.g. improving the deal flow for open calls, producing material, and informing project results)
- advising client companies from one's own area of expertise and familiarizing client companies
- improving processes and creating best practices with other project partners as well as stakeholder cooperation (connections with European collaborators and ecosystem players, financiers, companies etc.)
- other coordination and development tasks related to Aalto Startup Center's operations and the expertise of the selected person

You have a suitable degree for the position as well as know-how and experience in project work. Working experience in various publicly funded projects and knowledge about startup ecosystem in Aalto Campus is considered an advantage. Our working language is English.
