Position description:
We are looking for a dedicated Service Manager who ensures that services within Global PLM & Engineering CoE scope are run according to Wärtsilä ITSM principles and development is done according to existing processes. The Service Manager ensures that IT services meet the needs of users, maintain high levels of availability and performance, and align with business goals. This is done by managing virtual service teams and engaging with business stakeholders through appropriate governance models.
Service Manager PLM & Engineering will support the Product Engineering & Lifecycle Management team in achieving its targets. The team is responsible for defining and delivering IT services in its domain, managing service, solution and application lifecycles of Wärtsilä’s design and engineering systems, calculation and simulation systems, product configurator systems, content publishing systems, PLM reports as well as PDM/PLM systems. It develops and manages service specifications, and solution roadmaps according to architectural guidelines and creates functional specifications out of received business requirements for internal or external solution development. The team is also responsible for delivering projects within & related to various development projects & programs in the PLM & Engineering domain.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for lifecycle management of service(s) in own area
- Drive continuous service improvement, identifying and implementing process enhancements together with stakeholders and vendors
- Conducts regular service meetings and key user meetings and facilitates effective communication among team members and stakeholders
- Ensures that appropriate governance is in place
- Supports business stakeholders to prioritize the continuous development pipeline
- Manages the prioritized continuous development backlog
- Oversee daily service delivery, ensuring adherence to SLAs and KPIs
- Maintains service and service offering information in IM Service Portal and ServiceNow
- Manages service TCO and optimizes application costs
- Gives input to rolling forecast, possible year-end accruals and realized spending against PO
- Manages virtual service team consisting of internal and external personnel
- Initiates and participates in the development of service management processes and tools
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure service delivery
- Ensure that the business and IT are in alignment in their own responsibility area
- Manages roadmap and service catalogue of own responsibility area
- Manages assigned services and tasks according to ITSM best practices
- Foster strong customer relationships and collaborate with business units
- Manage relationships with external IT vendors and service providers
- Ensure IT services comply with security standards and regulatory requirements
- Maintain documentation and provide regular reports on service performance
- Oversee change management processes to minimise disruptions
- Support team members' professional development through training and mentoring
Requirements:
- Excellent knowledge of Teamcenter, NX will be required
- Excellent knowledge of working with ServiceNow will be required
- Good knowledge of design and engineering would be an advantage
- Experience working as an IT Service Manager or a similar position
- Experience working in an extended enterprise
- Strong understanding of ITIL methodologies and ITSM processes, knowledge of Agile/Scrum and DevOps methodologies, ITIL and Scrum master certifications are preferred
- Strong experience in solutions/systems development lifecycle – requirements, design, implementation, quality control, and deployment combined with excellent coordination skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration with strong presentation and facilitation skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion to understand and fulfil customer needs
- Excellent leadership and strategic thinking skills
- M.Sc. or B.Sc. in computer science, systems engineering, economics, data science or other related field of study
- Excellent knowledge of product lifecycle management domain and processes
- Proactive, development-minded and goal-focused attitude to work
- Financial acumen is valuable for service TCO management, resource allocation, and cost-effective service solutions
- Knowledge of cybersecurity practices and regulatory compliance is vital to safeguarding sensitive data and maintaining security standards
