Wärtsilä is an innovative technology company known for being a forerunner in the Marine and Energy markets. Every day, we – Wärtsilians - put our hearts and minds into turning Wärtsilä's purpose of enabling sustainable societies through innovation in technology and services into reality. Our ultimate aim is to provide increased value to both our customers and society. New, game-changing ideas and continuous improvement have been part of our DNA since 1834. Together, we can create new business opportunities and more sustainable future that we can all be proud of.

We want to transition the world towards a decarbonised and sustainable future. By pushing the boundaries of engineering and technology, we can make it work. We are always on the lookout for future-oriented talent – want to join the ride?

Are you a visionary, passionate and pragmatic LEAN professional ready to take us to the next level within process excellence and continuous improvement? Do you thrive on challenges and excel in environments with many interfaces and stakeholders? If so, we want you to join our HR community as an HR Continuous Improvement Lead!

Continuous Improvement is in our DNA and is one of the strategic initiatives launched by our Board of Management. Also in the HR function, we believe we have to run our services as lean and easy as possible. We are on a dynamic journey to get "waste" out of our processes, make sure there are no unnecessary manual hand-over points anymore and there is a 'one-time right' philosophy at play, as automated and harmonized as possible. This will allow our HR colleagues to spend time with their internal customers to create the biggest impact on our people. In this dynamic position, you will drive our continuous improvement agenda by applying Lean techniques, combined with an outstanding acumen of technology to improve operational HR deliverables. In practice, it means you run workshops, and sit together with process stakeholders to help them to identify areas for improvement. You are the facilitator and team-level coach for our HR community, responsible for helping the team embrace agile values, adopt and apply LEAN principles, and implement Agile practices - based on our Wartsila Continuous Improvement Model. You will help HR teams to remove impediments and foster an environment for high performance, continuous flow, and relentless improvement. With a strong end-to-end mindset, you bring all possible efficiency gains in key people processes.

Position information:

This permanent position is strategically positioned in the CoE HR Technology, Strategy & Insights and will work closely with the HR Leadership Team (HRLT) members, regional HR Heads and many subject matter experts inside and outside HR. The location could be at any relevant Wärtsilä Europe location.

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

  • BSc. or MSc. Degree or equivalent work experience

  • Solid experience with data analysis and research techniques
  • Good practical experience with business processes and HRIS systems, preferably Employee Central (SuccessFactors)
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written/listening, presentation) including the ability to communicate with both technical and business colleagues - must be able to discuss complex issues plainly and concisely
