This is a fixed-term role for 3 months.

As part of this project, you will be developing an innovative Music Arrangement System, gaining hands-on experience in both software development and music transcription. This position allows you to combine your coding experience with your passion for music, making an impact on the way musical exercises are managed and implemented. It is an ideal opportunity to grow professionally while contributing to a project to reshape music education. 

What you will do

As part of the tools team, you will collaborate closely with the content team to implement our new Music Arrangement System. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Creating a software transcription module for song arrangements.
  • Based on Yousician content rules, derive musical content from source material to MusicXML file format
  • Ensuring the first functional version of the system is operational within the first 3 months.
  • Tweaking and fine-tuning rules to ensure they work effectively with the system.

 

What you need to succeed

  • You have a basic understanding of musical notation.
  • You have experience with C# and/or Python.
  • You are interested in music and eager to push the boundaries of music technology.
  • You have a passion for learning and adapting to new challenges
  • Familiarity with MusicXML and transcription software (e.g., Sibelius) is a significant plus.
