Manager, Corporate Relations

We are now looking for a Manager, Corporate Relations for the School of Electrical Engineering
We are looking for a pro-active and organized professional to join our dynamic Corporate Relations team which focuses on creating societal impact with industry partners and the whole Aalto community.
Your role and goals
In our team you will be a key contributor in identifying new local and international industry partners for Aalto University. You will be doing business development activities with the support of our academics. Additionally, you will also concentrate on systematically elevating several existing smaller industry collaborations to the next level and help our researchers to find new industry contacts.
In addition, you might also oversee one of our strategic partnerships, characterized by a long-term collaboration history and significant volume. You will be ensuring continued favorable development of the relationship and actively pursuing new collaboration possibilities. You will work very closely with professors and scientists across schools and with Aalto’s top management when organizing steering group and CEO level meetings.
You will take an active role in initiating and contributing to further development of Aalto’s corporate collaboration offerings, processes, communications and ways of operating. Your adeptness in maintaining satisfaction among our industry partners and internal academic customers will be paramount. You support the School and its leadership team in their mission to systematically foster the mindset and engagement of academics toward innovation and corporate cooperation activities.
Your experience and ambitions
You are a quick learner with a keen interest in technologies and new collaboration opportunities. You are a solid team player but you are also great in performing tasks and meet deadlines independently. You work well across matrix organization and engage effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. As a hands-on person you execute tasks effectively from inception to completion. While humble, you are also courageous enough to demand a response from busy leaders and academics. To be successful in your role, you need a friendly and proactive attitude towards tasks and people, combined with pragmatism and a good sense of humor.
To succeed in this role you need:
- A master’s degree or equivalent in technology or business.
- Experience of successfully prospecting new partners/accounts in Finland and internationally.
- Preferably experience in working in technology industry (telecom, automation, electrical engineering, artificial intelligence).
- Excellent command in English and preferably fluency in Finnish.
- Experience of Business Finland funding application preparation.
- Excellent organizational and collaborative skills, as well as project management, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Experience using a CRM system and implementing co-marketing activities with partners, is a plus.

With our research, we seek to respond to many challenges posed by sustainable development and the results are applied, for example, in mobile devices, electrical networks, health care and in satellites. School’s special strength is linking the research with the Finnish and international business sector. We enroll currently approximately 2000, and award around 250 master’s and 50 doctoral degrees annually. Our staff consists of over 700 individuals, including more than 70 professors.
