Mechanic, Plant and Cell Development team

We are now looking for a Mechanic to join our innovative Plant and Cell Development team.
What you will be doing:
Your main task will be to work as a Mechanic in the Plant and Cell Development department, where you will be involved in both maintenance and special installation tasks in the Plant and Cell Development team. The team works as experts in plant and cell projects. You get to influence and participate in the rapidly developing engine testing environment. We offer a technically versatile and flexible environment where focus is on the use and development of new plant and engine technologies. We act as an enabler of future engine technology.
This job requires a determined and systematic approach to moving things forward, as well as the ability to think outside the box.
The location for this position is in Vaasa, Finland, and the position is permanent.
As a Mechanic, your work will include:
- Being responsible for mechanical maintenance of all cell equipment within planned time frames
- Taking ownership of mechanical tasks in demanding installation and development projects
- Being an expert in using tools, portable machine tools, workshop tools such as grinders, drills, welding equipment, etc.
- Monitoring the condition of maintenance equipment, materials, parts, and tools, ensuring those are maintained according to applicable guidelines and policies, and taking corrective actions when needed
- Maintaining good teamwork and relationships within the department and with other departments' personnel
- Test cells operative works
- The work also involves working at height
To succeed in this position, we expect you to have:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- A technical degree corresponding to the job description
- Self-propelling active personality with excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Finnish and English language skills are required, and Swedish skill is considered an advantage
- Ability to work on multiple tasks and self-manage the workload
- Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment awareness
- Proven technical knowledge and experience with mechanical assembly procedures within a maintenance, repair, and overhaul services environment
- The ability to read and understand technical assembly drawings and assembly instructions
- Knowledge of repair procedures like welding or machining is seen as an advantage
- Familiar with precision measurements and special hydraulic and mechanical tools
You will shine in this role if you have:
- Previous knowledge of marine or energy projects
- Previous experience working as an electrician is considered an advantage
- Experience in using SAP, Navisworks, Polarion, and M-Files
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Out-of-the-box thinking and innovative mindset
- Communication skills
- Self-management and teamwork spirit
- Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental skills
